Green Army Environment Club

AGO’s catchment areas are densely populated and the majority of the people are so poor that they have little or nothing to take care of their families. Most live in shacks surrounded by uncollected garbage and human waste and blocked drainages are common problem.

All this contributes to the spread of chronic diseases such as malaria, cholera, tuberculosis (TB) and dysentery which are major causes of disability and even death.

In addition to playing matches every weekend, the AGO through GREEN ARMY ENVIRONMENT CLUB members undertake; environment education, community garbage clean-up and tree planting activities. Moreover, the program creates awareness on environmental conservation within schools and community, in order to make sure that the community members are aware of the importance of environmental conservation.

Environment Cup

The Program is anchored on the power of sports: treating people kindly through upholding ethics and training on life skills; promoting good health, peace within communities and creating sustainable livelihoods; and the actual environmental conservation. Therefore Environment Cup is a basic model which advocates for the establishment of and promotion of environmentally sound practices. It exists to create awareness at community levels to improve environment conservation. It can therefore be defined as an individual, group or institution that is working with Africa Goal Organization in implementing the three pillars towards a Green Africa.

The activities for Environment Cup are: tree planting, community environment clean up, awareness creation community capacity building, waste management, music, sports and various forms of art and craft. Therefore Environment Cup is a self sustaining unit.
